Environmental Impact of Resource Extraction

Resource Exploit or Not Environmental Impact
Fish Yes, I will use this as a resource because it will provide lots of jobs, money, and food. So you don’t overuse the amount of fish that you have, set a quota. If you fish too much in the one area, you might kill off all of the fish and you will have none left for a while until the fish have more baby fish.
Forest Yes, I will use this as as resource because it can provide money, jobs, you can make shelter, firewood, paper, furniture, and other household appliances. So you don’t overuse the trees, set a quota, and follow a program of reforestation. Deforestation is when you cut down all of the trees in one area that is useful to you and the production of what you are making.
Natural Gas Yes, I will use this as a resource because you can use the gas for heating, it provides jobs, it can be exported to make money and buy goods that Bellavista doesn’t produce. The drilling and extraction of natural gas and its transportation causes methane to leak which contributes to the greenhouse effect. It can disrupt wildlife and its habitats and it can cause water pollution.
Mercury No, I will not use mercury as a resource because it is very toxic and there is a high chance that if inhaled, it could be fatal. Mercury is very toxic, so if a human inhales it they can be faced with damage to the nervous, digestive and immune systems, lungs and kidneys. It may be fatal.
Manganese Yes, I will use this as a resource because you can use it for iron and steel production which would supply Bellavista with jobs, and money, but you would have to be very careful with the extraction of manganese because it could potentially kill a bunch of animals. Some animals need manganese to survive, but only a very small amount. If they have more than the needed amount, it can start affecting their body pretty badly for example lung, liver and vascular disturbances, reduced blood pressure, and brain damage. Some are even found to cause tumors with a severe overdose of manganese.
Salt Yes, I will use this as a resource because you can use salt for human consumption, trading, it would provide a lot of jobs, and it would bring a lot money in, and the mines have been found to be beneficial for patients with asthma and other respiratory diseases so it could be used for medical reasons too. When you mine salt, you are going underground and digging little caves, so after a while the land above the caves will get weak, causing the top ground to collapse into the cave covering everything that is left under there.
Sulfur Yes, I will use this as a resource because you can use it to make many very important things that Bellavista needs. A lot of jobs are also needed in the sulfur industry, and  it would bring in a lot of money. Sulfur is extracted by using the frasch process which involves injecting superheated water into the sulfur deposits using a pipe and thereby forcing the melted sulfur to the surface. The recovered water contains minerals and can contaminate ecosystems. Once the sulfur is extracted it leaves caverns that can collapse.
Arable Land Yes, I will use this as a resource because you can use it to grow a lot of food, which will later lead to human consumption, you can trade the things that you grow, and it would provide a lot of jobs for everyone because in Bellavista there is a lot of arable land. The use of arable land in agriculture can lead to soil erosion, pollution by pesticides and fertilizers, and declines in biodiversity.
Coal Yes, I will use this as a resource because you can use it to generate power, it would provide many jobs, and humans would pay to use it, but we will have to be very careful using it because a lot of bad things could happen to the environment after major extraction. Since you extract coal by mining, it is possible for the cave to collapse on top of everything that is left in the cave. It can also cause air and water pollution.
Iron Ore Yes, I will use this as a resource because you can use it to build machines and ships, which are vital things for a country to have, and it would provide many jobs. In all of its phases, iron ore can affect the air quality, water quality, and many biological species.
Kaolin Yes, I will use this as a resource because you can use it to make many things that humans need in everyday life, and it would provide many jobs because the list of what kaolin is used for is very long. Kaolin is obtained by large scale open pit mining. This can result in water contamination, soil erosion, the disturbance of wildlife habitat, and the disruption of land use for other activities for example farming ,hunting etc..
Freshwater Yes, I will use this as a resource because you can use it for exporting and importing goods, human consumption, wildlife consumption, habitat for some animals, and many other things. Overuse of freshwater for irrigation, human consumption, and industrial use can lead to water scarcity.
